Born and raised in Northern Ireland, I began my journey in 1992, following a passion for travel that led to eleven exciting years working around the world in the cruise ship industry. It was during this time that I discovered Mexico—a country whose natural beauty and welcoming spirit immediately felt like home.
I first settled in Puerto Vallarta, where I worked as a real estate agent in a local real estate firm. After four successful years, I realized I was ready for a change of climate. A New Year’s visit to Ajijic proved transformative. I was struck not only by its year-round temperate weather, but by the warmth and connection among both locals and expatriates.
In early 2006 my partner and I made Ajijic our permanent home. With a strong entrepreneurial foundation and a passion for helping others find their place here, I returned to real estate and joined the team at Fenix Real Estate. I am proud to work alongside Dixie Nicholson, a respected broker with nearly 30 years of experience in the Ajijic market and extensive expertise in real estate and transactional processes.

The official gay bar in the area. Lucky Bar opened its doors in April of 2021, when Judo the owner saw the huge increase of LGBTQ growth in the area. It was an instant success with disco nights, live music and a variety of other shows that have been a huge success. The bar was then extended 2 years later to double the size. Just added Red Grand Piano

Cola de Gallo Opened its doors in October of 2024. The concept was created by Henrri, Robert, Dan and Alfredo, and had been a great addition to the area. Gay owners who have managed to find a wonderful blend of clientele, and a mix of the gay and straight community, who just like to dance and mingle together. They have regular shows with many different music genres.
